Anxiety Therapy

Online Therapy for Teens and Young Women

You’ve reached the point where you can’t handle it on your own anymore. Anxiety doesn’t have to continue to control you.

Frequent panic attacks, irrational thoughts, endless nights of no sleep, and non-stop worrying. This repetitive, vicious cycle puts you in a deep, dark hole where you feel anything but yourself. Instead, you would rather hide in your room under the covers and shut out the entire world.

Physically, you can’t sleep.  As soon as your head hits the pillow, your mind begins to race to the never ending to-do list you have or the constant re-plays of events that happened and how you could have done something differently. No amount of Melatonin will help the hours you spend trying to go to sleep, or how many times you wake up in panic. Instead, you just lay there staring at the ceiling fan circle round and round, waiting for this to pass.

In your relationships you feel like you are struggling too. Someone might have looked at you the wrong way and you’ve suddenly convinced yourself that they hate you. When you are out at a social event or on a date, you worry about what you say before you say it or you feel a sudden rush of panic when you think you said something “stupid.” You often wonder why your life doesn’t feel like how others look on social media, or if these “perfect” lives are even attainable to you.

At work or school, you constantly compare yourself to your peers. You spend so much time comparing yourself to others that you procrastinate and fall behind in your own work. You have these high, unrealistic expectations that are unattainable to anyone but you somehow expect yourself to reach them. It leaves you feeling completely burnt out.

How Anxiety Therapy Can Help:

New Perspectives.

Therapy offers a space where you can be your most authentic self.  Talking to someone who gets what you are going through and understands makes all the difference. It makes you feel like you aren’t “crazy” or alone in how you feel.  As we continue to get to know one another from session to session, you will begin to feel more comfortable sharing your scary and big emotions. Through this process, I will help you gain insight and perspective so that you can better understand yourself.

Practical Skills.

By learning about what anxiety is and how it can manifest in the body, you will identify what anxiety looks like for you. You will be able to identify when symptoms start increasing and what to do to prevent yourself from going into panic mode. You will learn new and strengthen already learned strategies as a part of your “toolbox” to tap into when things become too much. We will practice these strategies when you are calm at first, so that you feel confident using them when you are escalated.

Relationships.

We will work together to improve not only your relationship with others, but also your relationship with yourself.  You will learn how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. We will identify unhealthy thinking patterns that you have used in the past, which without realizing, has led to a lower self-esteem or self-worth.  The more you are confident in yourself, the more you will feel confident in your relationships. Let’s work together to nourish and grow these relationships into fruition.
